Zaansche Molen event: IFIKZ Festival at the World of Windmills Museum – 18 & 19 October
On Saturday, October 18, and Sunday, October 19, the World of Windmills Museum of De Zaansche Molen will be the bustling heart of the IFIKZ Festival. During this weekend, everything will revolve around Zaan crafts, theatre, and the development of windmills into industry. Young and old alike can discover, experience, and participate in creative activities at the Zaanse Schans.
Family theatre Klap van de Molen
A musical family show full of humour and beautiful puppets, based on the book by Hans Kuyper. By accident, Marij travels back in time to Zaandijk in 1800, where she learns about life in a windmill.
Your admission ticket also grants free entry to the World of Windmills Museum and Mill De Huisman.
Time: 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Festival centre with windmill crafts
In the festively decorated festival centre at the World of Windmills Museum, you can learn about centuries-old Zaan windmill crafts. Learn how to make ropes, watch the blacksmith at work, design a dress out of paper, or discover how a miller practises his trade. With a full stamp card, you can enjoy a serving of poffertjes.

Photography walk
Together with photographer Marjolein Lensink, you will discover the Zaan region from windmill to factory. During this three-hour walk, you will learn how to capture the industrial heritage and landscape.
Time: 2:00–5:00 p.m.
