Pre-run Dam tot Dam at the Zaanse Schans: a sportive event in the Zaan heritage

On Friday, August 29, 2025, Le Champion’s special sports event, the Pre-run Dam tot Dam, will take place at the Zaanse Schans. 1,000 Enthusiastic runners will lace up their shoes for a challenging route through our historical heritage, the Zaanse Schans, running past the iconic windmill panorama, the Kalverpolder and Enge Wormer. The beautiful route is 3.5 or 7 miles long.

The Pre-run Dam tot Dam is the ideal preparation for the famous Dam tot Damloop. In an environment where sportsmanship, history and nature come together, participants experience what it is like to run in a historical heritage site that is known worldwide for its wooden windmills, monumental buildings, water-rich polder and expansive landscapes. The event highlights the special connection between the Zaan region and this popular running classic.

Stichting de Zaanse Schans is proud to welcome this athletic tradition to the heart of the Zaan region in collaboration with Le Champion. It offers both runners and spectators a unique experience: a dynamic mix of exercise and culture.
